As a dual-certified Advance Practice Nurse in psychiatric mental health and family practice, it is a privilege to join the team at Your Story Counseling in their journey for the clients we serve. I bring the professional knowledge and expertise I've acquired throughout my 30+ years in nursing, where I spent most of my career working within the ER. This experience allowed me to witness firsthand the disparities that exist for those with mental illness. Mental illness knows no boundaries it does not discriminate as it crosses all genders, race, financial status, social status, sexual orientation, and culture.

I believe that knowledge is power; the more we can understand mental illness, the better equipped we become to reaffirm to others that it doesn’t define who they are. Seeking help takes courage, whether it’s for mental illness or receiving a medical diagnosis of hypertension, diabetes, or any other medical concern. In my work it is my goal to educate, empower, and offer clients a safe place to express their concerns.

Every client's story deserves to be heard in a supportive and stigma-free environment, regardless of where they've been.
