But it is in support of others that we learn the importance of this chapter we are in and the transformative healing it can bring. \nTOPICS WE DISCUSS: \n\nOpening up to the reality of our grief and loss. \nDismantling the myths of grief and how one thinks they are “supposed to feel.” \nHow we understand and honor the uniqueness of our grieving process\, including where we are today.\nRecognizing and learning our needs in mourning.\nNurturing a transformation that allows you to value the journey you are on in grief.\n\nThis group supports individuals (ages 18+) who have experienced grief & loss\, whether through death\, job loss\, pet loss\, or other major life transitions\, that may be feeling alone through their grieving process. We understand the loneliness one often experiences in the grieving process\, and we invite anyone looking for a sense of community at this time to reach out to us.  \nOur Grief & Loss support group offers individuals like you who are processing how to cope and heal through their grief. DESCRIPTION:Group Begins Again on September 10th\, 2024 | 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. and will run through May 13th\, 2025.\n\nConnecting Parents and Empowering Families\nThe pressures of parenthood in today’s world can be overwhelming\, but you are not alone. Parent Connections is a FREE drop-in when you need a support group that meets for an hour every week and is available to attend all year round. This group meets in person to provide individuals with a safe place to begin building connections with other parents looking to deepen their relationship with themselves\, their families\, and their children. \nWhy Join Our Parent Support Group?\n\nThe group is led by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in parenting and group work.\nProvides guidance and education in setting boundaries that will support your self-care and assist in meeting the multiple needs of your family.\nConnects you with other parents who can support and share parenting resources and practical ideas.\nProvides tools for understanding and navigating anxiety and stress. \nBuilds family resilience and effective communication. \n\nThis group is open to parents of all ages\, and individuals are welcome to join any time throughout the year. Our group facilitator\, Sheila Adamo LCSW\, CADC\, has extensive experience providing support to families and guidance to help everyone in the family address complicated issues that arise in our family dynamics. \n  \nTUESDAYS | 7:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. \nThe Parent Connections group will meet in person every Tuesday at this same time throughout the year in our group room at Your Story Counseling. DESCRIPTION:   Chronically Hopeful 4-week Group\n\nOnline Group\n\n\nChronically Hopeful is an online 4-week group\, inviting those with chronic health conditions to connect and identify methods to cope\, nurture resiliency\, and explore the impact of medical trauma. \n\nThe group meets online Wednesday evenings at 7p\, October 2nd through 23rd. Group sessions covered by most in-network insurance plans. Registration for participants closes on Wednesday\, September 25th. \nJoin Lara Govendo\, therapist at Your Story Counseling\, as she facilitates discussion about how chronic health conditions impact daily life\, struggles to find support\, and identify methods that create and nurture emotional wellness. She will provide you with the tools to cope\, process emotions\, and process and explore trauma caused by chronic health conditions. \n\n\n\nGroup Cost: Group sessions covered by most in-network insurance plans and a self-pay rate and reduced rate is available for those who qualify.\n \nProgram Information & Facilitator:\nLara Govendo | Group developer and facilitator— In addition to this group\, Lara also facilitates workshops designed to support individuals\, partners\, and families in coping with chronic illness. It often provokes us to have thoughts and emotions that are confusing\, painful\, or hard to talk about with others. But it is in support of others that we learn the importance of this chapter we are in and the transformative healing it can bring. \nTOPICS WE DISCUSS: \n\nOpening up to the reality of our grief and loss. \nDismantling the myths of grief and how one thinks they are “supposed to feel.” \nHow we understand and honor the uniqueness of our grieving process\, including where we are today.\nRecognizing and learning our needs in mourning.\nNurturing a transformation that allows you to value the journey you are on in grief.\n\nThis group supports individuals (ages 18+) who have experienced grief & loss\, whether through death\, job loss\, pet loss\, or other major life transitions\, that may be feeling alone through their grieving process. We understand the loneliness one often experiences in the grieving process\, and we invite anyone looking for a sense of community at this time to reach out to us.  \nOur Grief & Loss support group offers individuals like you who are processing how to cope and heal through their grief. Let’s gather in our grief so together; we may heal without the shame or blame of learning to let go and become whole again. \n *All of our group facilitators have lived with the experience that their group supports. \nThis group is ongoing throughout 2024 and offered as an open format for individuals to come as often or as little as possible.
